SOME of the PROJECTS I have SCORED
TORN HEARTS (Blumhouse Productions /Epix) —Feature Film
It was a pleasure to work on this uniquely horrifying slice of country folk horror.
AMERICAN HORROR STORIES (FX) Season 1
Episode “Feral” — a heartbreaking family tragedy woven into a primal, violent story of those that live in the woods and what they take. I combined a gentle, melodic painful piano with harsh, percussive, and unpredictable sounds and rhythms, to bridge the melancholy and the wild.
SELFIE (NETFLIX) - SXSW Official Selection
WHAT KEEPS YOU ALIVE (IFC Films) - Feature Film
Premiered at SXSW. Named one of the 10 best horror films of 2018 by Rolling Stone Magazine. New York Times Critics’ pick and Reached top 10 on Netflix.
Z (AMC SHUDDER) - Feature Film
TWO SENTENCE HORROR STORIES (CW) Season 2
AMERICAN HORROR STORIES (FX) - Season 2
For season two, I scored Bloody Mary and Necro. The Ryan Murphy universe is an imaginative, dramatic, dark playground that my voice lends itself well to.
TWO SENTENCE HORROR STORIES (CW) - Season 3
SAMARITAN (DI STUDIOS) - Short Film
SOME of my COMPOSING
Brittany Allen is a multi-disciplinary artist, with an impressive body of work as an actor, who is now also emerging as one of the most exciting young female composers to watch. Her first score was for the critically acclaimed indie What Keeps You Alive (SXSW '18) which was named a NYTimes Critic's Pick, one of Rolling Stone's Top Ten Horror Films of 2018, and hit the Top Ten films on Netflix. Allen's score was released by Lakeshore Records. She followed that up with her "soul-tugging score" for Z, one of AMC Shudder's most watched films of 2020. Allen went on to score two seasons of the horror anthology show Two Sentence Horror Stories for Netflix / CW. She recently scored three episodes of the AHS spinoff series American Horror Stories (FX/Hulu); and the offbeat music horror film Torn Hearts for Blumhouse. She is currently scoring the dramatic/comedy coming of age feature Scrambled for Lionsgate, produced by Jonathan Levine (50/50; Warm Bodies, Long Shot).
Allen crafts moving, dark, melodic themes and fresh, edgy sounds, leaning deeply into the character's emotional journey, pulling from her large body of work as an Emmy-winning actor. As a songwriter, her proclivity to dark material meets her pop sensibility.
