Hello…
Brittany Allen is a multi-disciplinary artist, who on the heels of a successful career as an actor, is now emerging as one of the most exciting young female composers to watch. Her first score was for the critically acclaimed indie What Keeps You Alive (SXSW ’18) which was named a NYTimes Critic’s Pick, one of Rolling Stone’s Top Ten Horror Films of 2018, and hit the Top Ten films on Netflix. Allen’s score was released by Lakeshore Records. She followed that up with her “soul-tugging score” for Z, one of AMC Shudder’s most watched films of 2020. Allen went on to score two seasons of the CW / Netflix anthology Two Sentence Horror Stories. Most recently, she composed the score for Blumhouse’s Torn Hearts. She’s just wrapped scoring two episodes of the second season of American Horror Stories, (FX/Hulu) after scoring standout episode from season one, Feral.
Allen crafts moving, dark, melodic themes and fresh, edgy sounds, leaning deeply into the character’s emotional journey. As a songwriter, her proclivity to dark material meets her pop sensibility, and her songs have been featured on AMC’s Spiral and Still/Born, and Lifetime’s Amish Abduction. As an actor, Allen is an Emmy-Award winner, and was most recently celebrated for her iconic turn as Popclaw in Amazon’s The Boys. She will next be seen in the Netflix original from Dark Horse, Grendel. Allen studied musical theatre at Canada’s prestigious Sheridan College, and she draws on her years of study in that field when approaching telling stories through music.
